If you're not a mom you will not understand the title to my post. If you're a mom who strongly disagree's with children watching endless hours of mindless cartoons you may not understand it either. If you're like me and you started off with good intentions of your children not watching more than one hour a day but soon realized there was too much grumpiness in a day and too many chores that mama needed to get done to stick with it than you might understand my title. Personally my thoughts on the whole TV thing is balance. Some days Rhett watches WAY to much of it but other days he hardly watches any at all. I figure it all balances out. So in the words of Weesie from the Dragon Tales these are the things I looooovvvveee about today:
1. My friends. My friend Kara gave me free frozen yogurt today, chcolate, peanut butter and coconut. When she found out how much I love coconut she gave me a huge container of it to go. Another friend of mine gave us a pie today as a thank you for watching her kids on Sunday. Go figure, she's watching my kid tomorrow but we still get a pie too. Two yummy treats in one day. I have the most generous friends. Are you jealous? Don't be they would do the same for you.
2. My daughter. Emersen slept last night from 8pm to 8 am. Enough said. She also is at the stage where she scoots herself all over the house finding toys and whatever to chew on and entertain herself. I love it.
3. My son. Right now he is happily coloring and cutting his apple sheets from pre-school so I can blog this. Before that he was playing with his weeble wobbles. They were having a birthday party and then they went to the zoo to see the alligator's and then they sang Old MacDonald and then they just played with toys. I love hearing him talk out loud the stories he makes up while he plays.
4. My husband. He is bringing home dinner and a movie tonight for him and Rhett. This means I don't have to cook or do the whole bedtime bath routine since the movie won't be over until past his bedtime. I also love the opportunity this gives Rod and Rhett to have some quality time together over their favorite food---- Chipotle. They're watching "the Wild" which is about a bunch of animals that take in New York city. Rhett LOVES animals and Rod loves New York so pretty cool there's something there for both of them.
5. DVD recorders. We recorded the TV series "Heroes" and I'm planning on watching it tonight. I love having a good show to watch along with a good snack (see #1) after the kids are in bed. There is something about relaxing in front of the TV that feels so good. I guess I have the same problem that Rhett does with his cartoons. Oh well I guess I can work on that later.
