FAM JAM

Families are one of the most complex entities. In my life they are my biggest blessing and my biggest worry and stress at the same time.

I guess I should expect some stress considering we have four individual people with our own wills, personality, likes, dislikes all under one roof. Two of those people are very strong willed, one of them can be pretty sassy with a very loud scream, and one tends to overreact and exaggerate just a tad. The very place that is supposed to be the most supportive and loving safe haven in reality can more often be filled with strife and anxiety. It tends to be easier to hurt those we love rather than love those we love.

Under all of the affliction is a hope for something pure. Something that pours out joy, peace, acceptance, endurance and love. Families will never escape affliction but they can be strong in it and because of it. A strong family is a breathing declaration of a God who is alive and working in redeeming hearts. I want my family to ooze strength.

For these reasons my family needs a place that we can go to refuel and have fun together. This is why I'm really excited about this coming Sunday night's "FAM JAM." We could go to Disneyland to have fun but it costs money and with the fun comes some stress, we could go on a family retreat but that just sounds like TOO much fun. "FAM JAM" is ten minutes away, free, and only one hour. It's as easy as going grocery shopping but we have an opportunity to have fun together and learn together. This will help strengthen my family.
