I've just spent the past two hours playing cars with my son. My mom bought him Mack the semitruck/friend/transporation/home-away from home for Lightening McQueen from the Cars movie. This guy has a big screen tv, car wash, kitchen (gas and oil), weight machine, lounger, car lift and game station. I think one of the reasons it was so easy for me to play this toy with him was due to the similarity between it and the Barbie camper van I had growing up. As much as my son and I enjoyed our quality time together it has put me behind on a few other things that were on the agenda for the evening.
I'm currently reading four books right now and not anywhere near finishing even one of them. My house is starting to cave under all of the loads of laundry, toys and miscellaneous clutter that needs to be picked up. We are having friends over in a few days for dinner in which I feel the need to look through some gourmet maganzines to plan the perfect meal rather than buy a frozen lasagna or 5$ pizza to throw down on the kids table. At some point I would like to give my husband a moment or two just so he knows he still exists in my world and matters greatly. The adult conversation would be nice for me too.
Between all of the above and hopefully spending some great times with friends from a far and friends nearby I may not get to the blogging thing much this week. I'll try to check back soon to post a picture of some clean laundry or a snazzy set table for my dinner guests.
