The first reason I like it is simply because Rhett put this train together with our dining room chairs and he's in the driver seat stearing it. It reminds me of when I was young and I used to pretend one of our big chairs was a car. I remember putting my dolls in the chair and pretending to drive them all over. You can't tell by the picture but earlier Rhett had an animal in each seat. I never get tired of watching him use his imagination.
Secondly it's a visual reminder that one day soon both of my kids will play together. They have started doing this already and it's pure joy to watch but inevitably Emmie will start screaming from Rhett not sharing or getting hurt because she can't quite keep up physically (although she is very close) or Rhett will start screaming because Emmie will ruin the perfect set up of animals, legos, cars or whatever. I'm sure Emmie helped Rhett in her own way set up the train so technically they were playing together and she is on the train but I cheated and put her there. I think she is much more interested in the bib.
Lastly I like this picture because it reminds me to be thankful for today and not rush life along too quickly. Someday Rhett will probably be driving a real car with his 13 or 14 yr. old younger sister in the back seat (probably preoccupied with herself in some way just like the picture.) I'm sure in those days I will find a picture like this and wonder where the time went.

I'm with you. I don't want to blink and miss them growing up and yet I know ther must be easier days ahead. I think it's the inevitable push-pull of motherhood. Your kiddos are precious here!!
I love the expression on Rhett's face! Thanks for the reminder to live in the now! I needed that!
So cute! And quite an impressive train.
